This session will provide a case review and application of OMM in the Emergency Department.  

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize diagnoses in ED that can be managed with OMM.
  2. Discuss and apply appropriate OMM techniques in the ED.
  3. Apply strategies for time management and application of OMM techniques in ED.
  4. Recall how to bill for OMM performed in the ED.

The NC Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Medical Association to provide continuing medical education to physicians.  NCOMA designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credit and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Anna Kalika is an adjunct faculty of OMM at the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her medical degree from the Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL. She was the chief resident during her third year of residency. During residency she developed a love for Emergency Medicine and continued her career in the Emergency Department. She has been an Emergency Medicine attending since 2011 and has enjoyed applying her OMM skills.
