  3. Identify the top 3 patient presentations to require specialty referral in ophthalmology, urology, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, and gastrointestinal disease.  
  4. Arrange and complete appropriate pre-referral evaluations.

Rhonda Myers is a licensed professional counselor who works at Capital Region Medical Center, Center of Mental Wellness. She sees clients in many capacities including individuals, couples and families for a variety of mental wellness concerns. These include anxiety, depression, relational struggles, etc. and she specializes in eating disorders.

 

Her Master's is from Webster University with some current hours from the University of Pennsylvania. Rhonda is also an adjunct professor at Columbia College in the Humanities/Psychology Department and loves to see her students grow. Dr. Wilson is a graduate of A.T. Still University, Kirkville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his intern year in internal medicine as well as his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri Columbia. He currently practices comprehensive ophthalmology at Jefferson City Medical Group with special emphasis in the fields of macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Wilson is board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Katie Murray is a graduate of A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following graduation, she completed her residency in urology at the University of Kansas and a fellowship in urological oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Murray is the Assistant Professor of Surgery for the University of Missouri, Department of Surgery and the Medical Director of Urologic Oncology at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center both in Columbia, MO. She is also the Assistant Professor of Surgery, Research Clinician Tenure Track for the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Dr. Murray is a member of several associations and a very active member of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons where she currently serves on the Education and Convention Committee. David Cleaver, DO's Profile

Dr. David Cleaver is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and Mohs Surgery. He practices general dermatology with an interest in rural dermatology and psoriasis.  He performs many different types of dermatological surgery and has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology including botulinum toxins, dermal fillers and multiple types of lasers.

 

Dr. Cleaver completed his training at the St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Michigan before returning to his hometown of Kirksville to join his father’s practice in 2010. Dr. Cleaver is currently an assistant professor of dermatology at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine/A.T. Still University. He is the Third Vice-President for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and is currently the Program Director for the dermatology residency training program Northeast Regional Medical Center/ Still OPTI. Dr. Cleaver discloses that he has a financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with AbbVie through speaking engagements and with AbbVie, Castle and Regeneron related to research support.


Matthew Bechtold, MD, FACP's Profile

Matthew Bechtold, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine – Division of Gastroenterology – for the University of Missouri and the Harry S. Truman Veterans’ Hospital located in Columbia, Missouri. He holds a master’s in molecular biology from Southeast Missouri State University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri and a fellowship in clinical nutrition at the University of Louisville and Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Bechtold is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  He is recognized as a founding member of the Missouri Gastroenterology Society Governing Board and is active on many local and national health committees.
